Owl for my friend

Just thought I'd share this birthday card I made for my good friend John.  I just love using the Owl Punch to make a card!  It's quite similar to one I made for my friend Linda for her birthday but this one uses the new edgelits for the Big Shot too.

I love being an independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator!!

Today I went to the northern regional demonstrator training day in Leeds and boy did I have an amazing time!!

Why do I love being a demonstrator?  .... Where do I start?
  • I get to meet amazing people who share my passion for papercrafting;
  • I learn new techniques constantly;
  • There are always so many new beautiful products to play with;
  • I get them at a discount!;
  • There are always special offers and promotions;
  • I can do it MY WAY, earning as much or as little as I want;
  • I can be a demonstrator as a business, career or hobby;
  • There is an astonishing amount of support for every demonstrator;
  • I can travel overseas to conventions - it's a worldwide company;
........... I really could go on!!

So, if you want to take your crafting to the next level, earn some money from it, and get to own beautiful crafting products (I truly believe they are the very best in the world) at a reduced rate then why not consider signing up as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  There's really never been a better time; there is a brilliant new totally customisable starter kit which only costs £99 for £130 worth of products + £45 worth of business products to help you get started.

Did I mention that I'm going to Germany with Stampin' Up! in November this year?  You could be coming too - if you sign up as a demonstrator in the month of May then you can get the convention registration (worth £149) for FREE!

Please contact me to find out more about being a demonstrator, I'd love to share my experience with you.

Flying high for Dad!

Stampin' Up! Up, Up and Away stamp set, framelits labels collection die set, Bigz Dies Two Tags

I have been dying to use some of the products in the new Summer mini catalogue and so I couldn't wait to put together these lovely cards for my May class in Howden.  Inspired by Father's Day I wanted to use some bright and funky colours as well as the gorgeous 'Up, Up and Away' stamp set.
On Saturday 26th May you can attend my card making class in Howden (click my Classes tab for details of location and times) and make these two cards and a gift card holder for Dad.
I've used rich razzleberry card stock as my main colour with old olive and pacific point as my accent colours.  I've also used the brand new Framelits Labels collection die for the Big Shot to cut out the super layer in white on the left hand card and I've used the Two Tags Bigz die to cut out the old olive layer on the card on the right, this die was also used to make the gift card holder insert.
It should be an exciting class as each project uses dies, stamps, inks and markers and a bit of cutting too!

April Class

We'll be waving our flags this month in class as we make two lovely birthday cards using the Pennant builder punch.  The colour schemes won't be red, white and blue though but the cards will be great for male and female birthdays and we'll even be making a little gift box to match the ladies card using the Pillow Box Big Shot die.

I'm sure we'll have a fun crafty morning, so if you want to join us please drop me an e-mail before Wednesday so I know how many kits to make up.

A Commissioned Card

I just thought I'd share a card with you that I was asked to make.  My sister has been invited to a wedding and the bride and groom are both anglers. Their wedding invitation had a 'two people in a boat fishing' theme and she wanted to send an acceptance card along similar lines.
As this is a commissioned card I was able to use some items that aren't Stampin' Up! and some that are but are from 'retired' sets.
So, the gorgeous fishing owls were made using the two-step owl punch (current catalogue), their wings were made using the 2-step bird punch (current catalogue), their boat is Stampin' Up! designer paper from a retired series.  I made their fishing rods using cotton buds; snipped the cotton ends off and then coloured the stalks with permanent black marker.  The water was made using the scalloped edge border punch (current catalogue) and the sentiment 'aint love grand!' is part of a hostess stamp set which you can earn by hosting a party.  Inside the card I stamped another sentiment; 'Thank You' which allowed my sister to say thanks for the invite.  When I finished the card I thought - OMG is it too childish? but my sister re-assured me that it was just what she was hoping for - phew!  Being an angler myself I rather liked the fact that the lady owl caught the fish!!

Swapsies!

Hi Crafters!
last week was a Stampin' Up! training event and for these events demonstrators make and take 'swaps' to share with each other.  The idea is that we all come away with a stash of new designs or ideas we can use.  I just thought I'd share with you my swaps. The theme for this swap was 'Spring'.  I had such fun making these and I usually try and do one design with a couple of different choices of colour. You can just make out on the pink one that they were sprayed with 'shimmer mist'.
Hope you enjoy them, happy Stampin'.
