Blog Hop

Hi! and welcome to my contribution to this blog hop, my projects are all using a stamp set 'Feel Goods' from page 21 of the NEW Spring seasonal catalogue.  It's the very first time I've taken part in a hop, so I hope I don't disappoint...let's get hopping!  Firstly, if you haven't arrived here via Jo's page you can see what she has created from the previous page of the catalogue by clicking here.

I love 'Feel Goods' as it is inspirational and versatile; I've used it here to make cards, to decorate the front cover of a journal and to narrate my scrapbook pages.
So, lets have a look...

Chalkboard cards, this style is so trendy at the moment and this is my first ever attempt at making one - lots of firsts for me today!!

I used the following products: Melon Mambo card stock for the base, basic black for the 'chalkboard' layer and Whisper White craft ink to stamp and with a dauber to make chalk dust effect.

I used my Top Note Bigz die for the Big Shot which I haven't used for ages!  Finished both cards with some NEW pretty striped organza ribbon (page 30 of the Spring seasonal catalogue).

covered notebook
My next project was a covered notebook which I want to use as my journal this year, I don't keep a daily diary but when we go away in our caravan I love to keep a journal about what we've done.  I've been meaning to get on with covering a notebook for ages ready for this year, so what better reason than to use this stamp.  'The best things in life aren't things' - so true (except for Stampin' Up! things - hee hee).

I used some Designer Series Paper in Primrose Petals for the cover, then I decorated it with Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip card stock using my Framelits Labels Collection to shape and layer the sentiment. Polka dot embossing folder also came out to give a bit of texture.  I finished it off with an Antique brad and some seam binding ribbon in Baja Breeze.

Next is a 12" x 12" scrapbook page, as soon as I saw the sentiment 'She believed she could..so she did' I knew exactly which photo I wanted to stick it on!  For years I used to rock climb (when I was young!) in North Wales on crags on the sides of mountains. I never actually got to the summit of Tryfan as we always climbed just on the crags... I believed I would climb it one day and in 2008 I did!  Here I am...

I used Crumb Cake as my base and stamped it using Daydream Medallions from the main catalogue in Gumball Green, Baja Breeze and Midnight Muse.  I used the new Floral Frames Framelits for the sentiment.

I also knew how I would use the next stamp from the set 'A friend accepts us as we are and helps us to be what we should'.  Last year my good friend Caroline moved away from area and so I can't run with her any more, however in March last year we both ran together in a 10k trail race in the Lake District.  Caroline really encouraged me to get back into running after a few years off and we had such a brilliant time getting muddy on the hills!

I used all the same products as my last page but added a couple of extra framelit layers for a bit of journalling.  I also used one of the new divided page protectors for 12" x 12" scrapbooks, I was initially a bit nervous about using these but I've really enjoyed the challenge of splitting the page up - hope you like the result. (unfortunately no matter how much I tried to photograph it inside the pockets there was too much reflection, so I've taken it out but lined it up exactly as it appears once inside the pocket).

My last project highlights the final stamp from the set 'Those who bring Sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves'.  I'm sure that you'll agree my gorgeous God-daughter Amelia is a ray of sunshine.  This was a quick and simple layout using Melon Mambo as a base and So Saffron for the framelit for the sentiment.
