Cawood Craft Festival

Phew! that was a brilliant weekend at the Cawood Craft Festival.  On Saturday my friend and fellow demonstrator Linda (www.stampingsecrets.com) and me went up there to look at the space we would have for our stand on Monday.  The festival was on for the whole weekend including the bank holiday Monday but we were only having a stand for one day.  The entire village was turned into a craft festival with things going on in a variety of locations from scarecrows all over the village, a miniature steam train for the kids, a display of beautiful hand crafted items in the church and in the vicarage garden (quite a large orchard) a huge marquee and several smaller marquees full of crafting stands all showing their wares!
Well, it was so tempting to spend all our money on Saturday but in the end we each bought little bits and pieces and a large bowl of chilli and an ice-cream to wash it down with before coming home.
I then spent Saturday evening practicing laying out our stand and displaying everything nicely before photographing it, I was exhausted by the time I'd done and my dining room looked like a Stampin' Up! extravaganza!!
Sunday morning arrived and Linda got to my house nice and early so we loaded my car with all our goodies and off we went.  It only took us about an hour to set up thanks to my control freakiness expert planning the night before.  We were pleased with our efforts and in the end the stand looked pretty good for a first attempt.
We had a brilliant day meeting a lot of lovely people, most of whom were actually interested in what we were doing, we even managed to persuade a couple of totally non crafters that they too could make a lovely birthday card - they were very pleased with themselves!
It was hard work planning it all and making our 'inspiration tables' but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we're looking forward to doing another one soon.
